the weekend of doing
this weekend was a time of repeat activities for me. first, on saturday, we revisited the south yuba river state park. then on sunday, i went to camp cohasset with my brother and his new girlfriend. i have put up pictures of us at yuba river and me at camp cohasset. last year's yuba river photos can be viewed here and camp cohasset back in 2004 are here.
i had an amazing time both days though today i am exhausted from the 6 hours of driving each day, the bruisings from rocks, and the throwing of horseshoes.
i'm planning a second yuba river trip on august 20th for those who missed this one and want to go. my cousin james is coming down for the weekend (probably) and he wants to check out this fun place which made me unable to walk all day at cohasset. i had to keep grabbing him even if we were just standing there because my legs were too sore to support me. it was pathetic.

p.s. my brother further explained the place where they go. you remember that fork in the path we reached? apparently we needed to go thru like 4 forks and reach a waterfall and that’s where the pool is. i think this is a much longer walk than 10 minutes. and we barely made it when we did walk those 10 minutes. i vote we try the one with the rock for jumping off right after the little foot bridge next time. then when we go in august we’ll have adam with us to show us his place.

Is the 20th set in stone?
…because I hear that the weather on August 26th/27th is meant to be far superior…
Those pictures, by the way, are absolutely beautiful. What camera did you use? Was that one of those little waterproof disposables?

james will be here on the 20th, so i think we are going then. what’s the differences in the weather?
totally underwater disposables. awesome, huh? i think it’s more a reflection on the gorgeousness of the scenery than on my cheap-o cameras, but still.

If the weather would be better on the 26th/27th, I could come down there then. Either the 20th or the 26th/27th would work. Michele just let me know what day you would perfer and I will be down there.

there is no way BD could know the weather in august. if i hadn’t been so tired last night i would have figured that out. you just can’t go the 20th can you, danny?
i think we should go whatever weekend is best for you, james. you should check and see which day you can get off and which weekend you’ll have a 4 day weekend on.
also we should discuss what you want to do on the monday. beach, SF tourist things, great america, drive down the coast? we can do almost anything.

Also you should not got the weekend of August 26th/27th as Michele will be in SB visiting me. Sorry.

The weather forecast is showing a wedding I have to attend on the 19th and a free Stern Grove Ozomatli/Crown City Rockers concert I’d like to attend on the 20th.
Really, I agree with Michele. Let’s go whatever weekend is best for James. I’ve seen both Ozo and CCR (not that CCR) before, and they’re not going away anytime soon. Claudine and I will join the group whether you go on the 20th or the 26th/27th.
And I think the pictures come out so well because of the photographer. Michele, you always take beautiful pictures.

yes! i knew there was a reason i couldn’t go august 26/27th. i just couldn’t remember it for the life of me. that shit needs to be written down in my calendar. wine tour, wine tour, i’m so excited! we’re sticking with the 20th for yuba river. james, take note.

That sounds great, just sent you an email, letting you know that I am going to be coming to you house on the 19th. You will have to drive to the cheesecake factory, since I do not know where it is at, but I am willing to drive to yuba river the next day, just need directions.
