1. tax season. seriously. not only am i getting back enough for a whole month of rent ($1040), but ALSO enough back for the whole coachella trip including however many lemonade slushies i choose to drink. (tickets=$180, lemonade slushies=$3/per, gas=i don’t care, i’ve got plenty of money!)

breakdown: $1207 (federal) + $102 (CA) = $1309

(1.5, 5 minutes later). after some serious consideration and actual math, i estimate gas to cost about $80. which actually leaves me with only $9 and thus a finite number of slushies. being 3. sadness! only 3 slushies! i need to whore myself out for spare change now so i can have all the slushies my little heart desires.

grumble grumble, goddamn expensive rent.

but shouldn’t gas also include the possibility that other people will share the costs? you should definitely get some extra slushy funds

sadly, no, i already accounted for that. gas total will be about $175 (according to my rough calculations based on miles to location, my car’s mileage per gallon, and gas prices in the state of california). and it is my current conjecture that my car will have no more than 2 other people in it (according to current figures of attendance, it might even only be 1). so admittedly, it could be less than $80 for me, but not by much. what am i looking to squeeze out of this? another 3 slushies? well, actually, 3 slushies per day is none too shabby. i could probably live with that bargain. however, i have a sneaking suspicion that the SMALL slushies were $3 and the BIG slushies are actually $5. and the small ones are so totally not worth $3, (which is not to say that the big ones are worth $5 by any stretch of the imagination. cursed coachella money-grubbers).

you’re sorry. my empty tummy of slushies is sorry. i tried to convince my mom that they’d never notice if we just kept all the money. but she threatened me with auditing.

mark’s been audited twice (federal and state) in the last year. he owed a fair amount of money and was very grumpy. so, unfortunately, i have to agree with your mom.

I’ve managed to save up roughly $16868 in my bank account, but I’m not sure if I should buy a house or not. Do you think the market is stable or do you think that home prices will decrease by a lot?
