loomy-doomy
this weekend i acquired an aggressive piggy antenna whoppy ball. he goes, "grrrr" and my car goes, "vrrrrrr(oom)".
where did i get this angry, angry porcine, you might ask? at wondercon. yes, this weekend i went (for a change) to a comics convention. not for comics, not even for little porkers, but for joss whedon. the man, the myth, the legend, the wonder. also there were 3 of the cast members from the tv show firefly/the movie serenity. this was pretty fricking sweet as firefly is quite possibly my most favoritest show ever, (after all i did get the word tattooed on my body). i took pictures. of course i did. sadly my batteries were on the downward slide and thus the flash didn't work all too well. crappy flash. crappy dark pictures. but you get the idea. the idea that it was an hour of brilliance and they showed us a whole awesome clip from the upcoming serenity movie and then made laughy-cracky jokes.
also, my name in lights.

if joss is there at the SD one again this summer, i will totally come down and go with you. as long as i’m not in greece.

quite possibly my favorite part:
questioner: if you could have been any other character on the show who would it be and why?
adam baldwin/jayne: i’d be inara. because of all the sex. and what would i change? well, i’ve always wanted to be blonde.
summer glau/river tam: i’d be the captain. only i’d make the pants tighter.
nathan fillon/captain malcolm reynolds: i’d be river. and i’d wander around the place going, ‘cuckoo, cuckoo’ and sometimes i would do this (mimes holding something and shaking it up and down) with my bag of marbles. only it wouldn’t make a sound.
although the part where nathan fillon did an actual spit-take in response to the question, “did you ever have a line where you said, ‘well, at least i’m wearing my space pants.’?” was pretty damn funny.

i liked when that guy made jayne say “i’ll be in my bunk.” also, i liked all the other parts. the whole darn thing. i love you joss!

are you going to colorado to be in that panel? that’s sweet! i mean, the presenting at a conference part, not really the boulder, co part. =)

john and katherine live in boulder! it’s the only reason i’m going to the conference. i’m kind of terrified (as you could imagine) of presenting at the conference though. but i am doing it on banana, did you notice? mmm, banana!

i did notice! i thought i could be a very insightful audience member, having read several banana books, but i’m afraid john and katherine are not as enticing to me. hmmph. now i want a banana split and it’s only 10 in the morning.

i forced banana books on katherine too once upon a time. also the conference email organizer girl says there’s lots of banana fans at the school. scary says i! eep. i would much rather have an audience of you than an audience of strangers, believe you me.

I need to comment on the fact that the phrase “aggressive piggy antenna whoppy ball” delights me so much that I’ve been saying it to myself since you posted this. What is a whoppy ball, anyway?
Posted by: Dianna at February 24, 2005 10:18 AM
like those free jack-in-the-box whoppy balls they give out when you buy a sourdough jack. you know. the little foam jack balls with little foam hats, or sunglasses, or scarves in the winter-time, that you shove ass downward on your car antenna.
i don’t know why they’re called whoppy balls. actually i’m not sure if they are. possibly i just think they are. jason’s pants are fine, aren’t they?
