yesterday, we went here:

waiheke.jpg

here being waiheke island, a 35 minute boat ride from auckland.

i played in the water and picked up pinking scallop shells. i know this because today at the auckland museum they had the same shells behind glass cases. also stuffed albatrosses and a sad story about an elephant named rajah. albatrosses are HUGE. killing an elephant and then stuffing him for 7 months to be an exhibit in a museum because he wouldn’t let you ride on his back is STUPID.

tomorrow we fly to queenstown and discover if nuala really is brave enough to jump off a bridge. fingers crossed!

careful, nuala, if you land wrong you will be even shorter than you already are.

michele, i thought you were jumping off bridges and whatnot too. honestly, first you get pnemonia, then you are short, now this…i’m disappointed.

i watched someone jump off the sky tower today (a building much like the space needle in seattle). fuck no i’m not jumping off anything. i squeal with terror on the drop zone at great america. and these things are all much, much higher. i’ve come to grips with my own wussiness. though not with my impending pnemonia.

i might still get facial tattoos though.

I still reserve the right to back out of said jumping, however i’m going to try really hard not to, as I would like to do something out of the ordinary while here….at least out of my oridinary.
